A few useful details
Terms of Use
Last updated:
These terms cover your use of the Promptform Mac app and this website. Promptform is operated by Cong Zhao ("we", "us", or "our"). Contact us at [email protected].
1. The app and its license
Promptform is a local Mac app for saving prompt templates, filling variables, and copying text into other tools. It does not generate AI responses. It is distributed through the Mac App Store and requires macOS 14 or later.
The app is licensed under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms explain the product and subscriptions; they do not replace that license. Apple's applicable App Store and purchase terms also apply.
2. Your content and responsibilities
You retain your rights in the content you create or store. We do not claim ownership of your library. You are responsible for having permission to use any content you save, copy, export, or share.
Use the app and website lawfully. Respect others' privacy and intellectual property, and do not distribute malicious content or interfere with the app or website's security or operation. Rights to Promptform's software, branding, and website remain with their respective owners.
If you paste content into an AI tool or another service, its terms apply. You decide what to share and are responsible for reviewing the results.
3. Free and paid access
The free plan includes two saved prompts and one usable variable per prompt. Monthly and yearly subscriptions both unlock unlimited prompts and variables, plus import from JSON files, while a verified subscription or eligible billing-grace period is active. Pending or unverified purchases do not unlock paid access.
When paid access ends, your library is kept. Your two oldest remaining prompts stay usable, with one variable each. Additional prompts and variables are locked. Locked variables use their saved defaults, or their names if no default exists, when preparing a prompt.
You can still export or delete every saved prompt without a subscription. JSON import requires a verified active subscription or eligible billing-grace period. Deleting an accessible prompt makes the next oldest available; deleting the first usable variable makes the next variable available. There is no one-time or lifetime purchase.
4. Prices and automatic renewal
Subscriptions are billed through Apple. Current USD reference prices are $2.99 per month or $14.99 per year. The annual price is charged once per year.
Review Apple's checkout for the localized price, applicable taxes, billing period, and any offer before purchasing. Those details govern your purchase. Prices and availability may vary by region and change under Apple's rules and applicable law.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple. Deleting the app or your library does not cancel billing. A subscription provides access for its verified term; it does not promise lifetime access, lifetime updates, or future features.
5. Seven-day annual trial
The yearly plan offers a seven-day free trial when Apple confirms your eligibility and displays the offer at checkout. The monthly plan does not include this trial. The trial begins when you activate the subscription through Apple and includes unlimited prompts and variables.
The trial automatically becomes a paid yearly subscription at the checkout price unless canceled through Apple. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple determines eligibility and the access end date. Restoring purchases does not restart a trial.
6. Manage, restore, or refund a purchase
Open the Promptform menu in the library sidebar and choose Manage Subscription, or manage your subscription through your Apple Account. Apple shows when cancellation or a plan change takes effect. Access follows your verified purchase status and applicable end date, including any eligible billing-grace period.
To restore paid access, sign in to the App Store with the Apple Account used to buy it. Open the Promptform menu in the library sidebar, choose View Plans, and select Restore on the subscription screen. Restoration uses Apple's services and requires an active eligible purchase.
Apple handles billing and refund requests. See how to cancel a subscription or request a refund. Refund eligibility depends on Apple's rules and applicable law; approval is not guaranteed. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
7. Local storage and backups
Your library is stored on your Mac. Promptform has no built-in cloud sync or cloud backup. Keep your own backups. JSON exports preserve saved prompt records for re-import with an active subscription or eligible billing-grace period. Import adds prompts to your library; it does not replace the library. When a prompt ID already exists, you can skip it or import it as a new copy. Text, CSV, and Markdown exports are copies of prompt content and cannot be imported.
Device failures, damaged storage, or deleted files may affect your library. Deleting a prompt does not remove existing exports or backups. You are responsible for copies you save or share. Our Privacy Policy explains how the app, website, and support communications handle information.
8. Availability and consumer rights
The app and website may change over time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every future system, or delivery of future features. Apple services and third-party tools have their own availability and conditions.
Apple's standard EULA sets out the app's license, warranty, and liability provisions. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply to the extent permitted by law.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product or subscriptions change. The date above shows the latest revision. Changes affecting existing purchases remain subject to Apple's rules and applicable law, including any required notice.
